Taiyo Tomohisa (born 1982) is a wandering vampire who lives on human blood. Previously, he was singer in a popular Japanese boyband. Around 2001, he became involved with vampire Haneru Dolcesconi, who had fallen in love with him. The two had a relationship for a year, but in 2002, several vampire enemies of Haneru (including Tahari and Elizabeth) came to Japan to avenge one of their lovers whom Haneru had once killed in a fight. Their revenge consisted of turning Taiyo into a vampire, something they knew would emotionally wreck Haneru.
As soon as he was a vampire, Taiyo revealed his true nature; he had never loved Haneru and had only pretended to do so, so that he could impress his friends with dating such a good-looking girl. Additionally, he held Haneru responsible for his change to vampire and plotted revenge on her. In 2009, Haneru took up with another human, Stephen Cavallari, which angered Taiyo. When Stephen and his friends were going out in Mashike, Japan in November 2009, Taiyo and a few of his self-created followers approached the guys. Taiyo planned on killing Stephen by draining him dead, but his plans were interrupted by Haneru, her brother Serge, and Haneru's shapeshifter friend Yumna Reem and her packmates. While Yumna took Stephen and his friends home, Haneru, Serge and Yumna's friends eliminated Taiyo's newborn vampires, but Taiyo himself escaped from their clutches. Taiyo has yet to make another appereance.
