Haneru Dolcesconi (born Jagoda Tesla in 1897), is a vampire and Stephen Cavallari's lover. She is member of a coven lead by Melita Cephisso, who vampirized her adoptive brother Serge de la Romée in the 14th century. She has an adoptive sister, Malia, the one who created her.
Born in Yugoslavia, Haneru had always been living on the battlefield of the First World War. In this war, she met Malia Dolcesconi, a wandering Italian vampire feeding upon diyng soldiers. Unknowing of Malia being a vampire, the two became best friends. Once, Haneru was shot accidentally by a Hungarian soldier during the Battle of Cer, causing Malia to panick, decide she didn't ever want to lose her BFF and transforming Haneru. Haneru and her coven moved to Japan in 2001 to please Haneru. In Japan, Haneru met Stephen Cavallari, a human she fell in love with.
